Our story

Silhares (si-LYAR-es) comes from the Latin sella, a seat.

From it, Spanish took two words. Silla, the saddle. Sillar, the ashlar: the dressed, squared stone laid at the base of a wall built to outlast the people who raised it. A saddler is a sillero.

Two objects, one idea: things made to take weight, for a very long time.

What we make

Card cases, wallets and bags. Plain in shape, chosen for daily use, and meant to be carried rather than kept for best. We would rather offer a few pieces that last than many that don't.
